NPFL: Reason Why Bendel Insurance vs Katsina United Match Was Abandoned Has Been Revealed

Bendel Insurance FC vs Katsina United in the Nigeria Premier Football League was abandoned on Sunday after heavy rainfall disrupted play at the match venue in Benin City.

The match had reached the 62nd minute with both teams locked at 0-0 when the referee was forced to stop proceedings due to a heavy downpour that made the pitch unplayable.

In an official statement, Bendel Insurance confirmed that the abandonment was caused by the worsening weather conditions, which made it unsafe for play to continue.

The club also announced that the remaining minutes of the match will be completed the following day at 8:00 AM, allowing both sides to return and finish the encounter.
