NPFL Orders Probe After Ikenne Match Violence Nigeria Premier Football League

The Nigeria Premier Football League has condemned reports of fracas and alleged attacks on fans during and after the Matchday 20 clash between Remo Stars and Ikorodu City in Ikenne. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi said the league was unhappy the incident occurred despite a prior reconciliation meeting. “In the light of the reports and video evidence… the NPFL is inviting the two clubs to an investigative hearing on Monday, January 19 at our office in Abuja,” the statement said.

Owumi added the hearing will identify causes and apply sanctions where necessary after due process under league regulations framework.
