Niger Tornadoes midfielder Ani Chigozie is set for an emotional return to familiar territory as he prepares to face former Nigeria Premier Football League champions Rangers International on Sunday in a matchday fourteen encounter at the historic Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Chigozie, who began his football journey in Enugu, expressed genuine excitement about returning to the city where it all started. For the Tornadoes midfielder, playing against Rangers, a club he holds in high regard, brings both pride and motivation.
“I feel so happy touching down in my hometown and playing against Rangers. It is a great feeling always playing against one of the most successful clubs in Nigeria,” Chigozie said ahead of the clash.
Despite the emotional significance of the fixture, Chigozie remains fully focused on the task before him. He explained that the team will approach the game with the same mindset that has guided them throughout the season.
“Nothing changed, We will just go in the field and do what we know how to do best,” he added.
