NPFL: Niger Tornadoes Choose Lafia City Stadium for NPFL Home Games

Niger Tornadoes have officially selected the Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa State as their temporary home venue for Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches, following a ban on the use of the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.

The decision comes after the NPFL ruled that the Minna-based stadium no longer meets the league’s updated standards, particularly in areas related to broadcast and television rights requirements.

The Nigeria Premier Football League confirmed that Niger Tornadoes are no longer permitted to host home matches at the Bako Kontagora Stadium. According to the league body, an assessment of the facility revealed shortcomings that fall below the NPFL’s revised operational and media guidelines.

In response to the ban, Niger Tornadoes have opted for the Lafia City Stadium as their preferred venue for home fixtures. The stadium, located in neighbouring Nasarawa State, is expected to host the club’s NPFL matches until further notice.
