NPFL: NFF Appeals Committee Reverses Remo Stars’ Home Ground Ban, Club Returns to Ikenne
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Appeals Committee has overturned the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) decision that had banned Remo Stars from hosting matches at their home ground, allowing the club to return to Ikenne Stadium with immediate effect.
Earlier this season, the Sky Blue Stars were forced to play their home fixtures at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta. This arrangement came after the club was sanctioned for crowd disturbances during their Matchday 20 clash against Ikorodu City on January 14.
In a ruling delivered on Friday, February 27, 2026, the NFF Appeals Committee set aside the NPFL’s banishment order, officially clearing the way for Remo Stars to resume hosting matches in Ikenne, restoring the club’s home advantage for the remainder of the season.
