NPFL: Mbwas Mangut Praises Nasarawa United Players After Victory Over Ikorodu City

Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut has expressed gratitude and praised his players after Nasarawa United FC secured a hard-fought 1–0 win against Ikorodu City FC in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash.

The decisive moment came late in the game when Bright Silas Amadi scored a superb free-kick in the 83rd minute to hand Nasarawa United all three points at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking after the match, Mangut revealed that his team expected a difficult contest against a strong Ikorodu City side that is also pushing for the league title.

“Before now, we were very much aware of how difficult this game would be, knowing that Ikorodu City are also a team in contention for the league title,” he said.

“We gave them a lot of respect in the first half. We sat back and there were not many chances, but we made some changes in the second half and those adjustments made the difference.”

“With nine matches left this season, we will keep improving our scoring and defending to finish strongly on the table,” he added.

The victory lifted Nasarawa United to third place on the league table, and Mangut’s side will now travel to Ikenne for their next fixture against defending champions Remo Stars
