Match officials in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) have voiced growing frustration over unpaid allowances as the league gears up to resume. Many referees, referee assessors, and match commissioners say they have continued to officiate matches without receiving their match-fee payments.
According to Punch Newspapers, payments to officials have reportedly been stalled since matchday eight, leaving several weeks of allowances unsettled. Some officials revealed that their basic matchday fees range between ₦60,000 and ₦90,000, in addition to hotel and transport allowances that are also pending.
