NPFL Lifts Kennedy Boboye Suspension as Bendel Insurance Coach Cleared to Return
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has lifted the suspension on Bendel Insurance head coach Kennedy Boboye, clearing him to return to the dugout with immediate effect.
Boboye was handed a 17-match suspension after he was accused of assaulting match officials following Bendel Insurance's Matchday 32 clash against Plateau United during the 2025/26 NPFL season.
The experienced coach denied the allegations but was still forced to miss the final six matches of the campaign as he served part of the sanction.
However, the NPFL Board has now reviewed the case following an appeal and apology submitted by Bendel Insurance, paving the way for Boboye to return ahead of the new season.
In a letter addressed to the club, the league body confirmed its decision to suspend the remaining period of Boboye's ban.
The NPFL, however, warned that the suspended portion of the sanction will be activated if Boboye is involved in any similar misconduct during the next season.
