NPFL: Kwara United Head Coach Ashifat Suleiman Explains Team’s Struggles After Kun Khalifa Defeat

Kwara United head coach Ashifat Suleiman has explained the reasons behind his team’s recent struggles following their 1–0 defeat to Kun Khalifa in a midweek encounter at the Dan Ayam Stadium, Owerri.

Speaking during the post-match interview, Suleiman attributed the Harmony Boys’ poor run of form to a combination of declining performances and the movement of key players who are currently away on foreign trials.

“This is a difficult moment for us. We have not scored a goal since the restart of the league in the second stanza. We’ve lost form and players to foreign trials, but we will surely strengthen the squad and ensure we maintain our league status,” Suleiman stated.

Following the defeat in Owerri, Kwara United will return to Ilorin to face Warri Wolves on Monday, February 2.
