NPFL: Kwara United Have Dismissed Claims They Abandoned Former Player Anthony Anioke NPFL: Kwara United Have Dismissed Claims They Abandoned Former Player Anthony Anioke

Kwara United have firmly rejected allegations that they abandoned their former player, Anthony Anioke, during his injury layoff.

The club’s chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, addressed the claims, insisting that the accusations are misleading and do not reflect the club’s actions during the period in question.

According to Titiloye, Anioke declined to receive medical care from Kwara United’s officially approved medical team despite the club’s willingness to support his recovery. He explained that the club had made adequate arrangements to manage the player’s condition but was unable to proceed due to Anioke’s refusal to cooperate with the medical staff.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Titiloye made it clear that no player has the right to undermine the club’s image after refusing approved medical treatment.

“No player can subject the club to ridicule or cheap blackmail after refusing medical treatment from our approved medical team,” Titiloye stated to the club’s media.

“Anthony Anioke joined the club with an existing injury, and despite our readiness to manage his condition, he chose to leave.”
