NPFL: Katsina United Threaten Legal Action Against Striker Uche Collins Over Unauthorized Absence
Katsina United has issued a strong warning to their striker, Uche Collins, after the player allegedly went absent without official permission.
The Nigeria Premier Football League side revealed that the forward has not reported back to the club since February 22, 2026. His last appearance for the team came in a league clash against Rangers International F.C. at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
According to the club, the forward, who is currently their top scorer this season, has also stopped attending training and left the team’s accommodation without informing management.
Speaking on the situation, the club’s chairman, Surajo Mohammed, confirmed that the player has been absent from all club activities for weeks.
“The player has been absent from the club’s activities without official permission since February 22nd, 2026, when he participated in our match against Rangers International Football Club,” Surajo said.
“We’ve received rumors that he’s in talks with a European club, but let me make it clear: Uche Collins is a Katsina United player, and he has a binding contract with us until end of 2026/2027 Football season,” the chairman emphasized.
“We warn any club entertaining the idea of poaching him to think twice, lest they face legal consequences and disciplinary action.”
