Kano Pillars secured a crucial 1–0 victory over Remo Stars on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, deepening the struggles of the defending champions in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The tightly contested encounter was decided in the 57th minute, when Luis Dadong found the back of the net to hand Kano Pillars all three points in front of their home supporters.
