NPFL: Kabiru Dogo Reacts to Niger Tornadoes’ Home Draw Against Warri Wolves

Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Kabiru Suleiman Dogo has admitted that his side must improve in front of goal after being held to another home draw by Warri Wolves in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Ikon Allah Boys were unable to make their home advantage count in the Matchday Five encounter at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, extending their difficult run of results.

Dogo expressed his frustration with the number of chances his team has failed to convert and revealed that the technical crew will now focus on improving their attacking output.

“We scored four goals in our first two opening matches against Enyimba and Kano Pillars, making us believe we wouldn’t encounter goal-scoring challenges. But now, we have managed to score just once in three games, which is not encouraging. Since we have identified the challenge, we will work collectively as a team to solve the goal-scoring problem.”

The Niger Tornadoes coach also acknowledged that his squad still needs time to develop better understanding and cohesion, while admitting that their supporters have every reason to be unhappy with the recent performances.

“This is just week five, with 33 more matches to play out of 38, so in my opinion, there is room for improvement, and it’s our responsibility as a team to work towards achieving the desired result.”
