NPFL Hands Nasarawa United ₦5 Million Fine and Orders Closed-Door Home Matches
Nasarawa United FC have been sanctioned by the NPFL with a ₦5 million fine and a directive to play their final two home games of the season without spectators.
The decision follows disciplinary findings from their April 5, 2026 fixture against Kun Khalifat FC at the Lafia City Stadium, where several breaches of league regulations were recorded.
The league outlined multiple offences behind the punishment, including poor security arrangements, the throwing of dangerous objects at match officials, and conduct deemed inappropriate and damaging to the image of the competition.
Additional charges included misconduct by supporters that led to the harassment of officials, as well as an incident in which match officials were reportedly held back for an extended period after the final whistle.
As part of the ruling, Nasarawa United will now complete their remaining home fixtures behind closed doors. The club has also been given a 48-hour window to appeal the sanctions if they choose to challenge the verdict.
