Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George has remained positive despite Rivers United suffering a 2–1 defeat to Shooting Stars SC in their league clash in Ibadan on Thursday.

The home side took control of the game with goals from Sodiq Ibrahim and Qamar Adegoke, giving the Oluyole Warriors a crucial advantage. Wasiu Falolu scored the only goal for Rivers United, but it was not enough to prevent the Pride of Rivers from leaving empty-handed.

Despite the setback, Finidi remains confident that his team will respond positively in the coming matches. The former Nigeria international said the focus now is on correcting mistakes and encouraging the players to improve ahead of their next fixture.

“We lost, we’ll go back and make a few corrections. We just have to continue to encourage the players to express themselves properly before the next game,” Finidi said via the club’s media channel.
