NPFL: Finidi George Laments Missed Chances Despite Rivers United’s Win Over Kun Khalifat
Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George has expressed frustration over his team’s inability to convert chances, despite securing a 4-2 win against Kun Khalifat.
The match, played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday, saw Rivers United reclaim top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League after an entertaining performance.
However, Finidi admitted after the game that his side made life difficult for themselves by failing to take early opportunities.
“In the opening minutes of the game, we had a couple of chances that we didn’t take. You know when you have chances like this you have to score,” he said.
The coach went on to emphasize the importance of being clinical in front of goal, noting that creating chances must be matched with effective finishing.
“I can’t do the job myself. We often talk about scoring goals. You have to create chances to score, and when you create chances without scoring, it becomes difficult.”
