The Nigeria Premier Football League has imposed a ₦6 million fine on Warri Wolves following crowd trouble during their matchday 36 fixture against Plateau United.
According to the league body, inadequate security arrangements allowed unauthorized individuals to access restricted areas of the stadium, while supporters were also found guilty of acts of misconduct capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
As part of the sanctions, Warri Wolves have been directed to identify and prosecute those responsible for the incidents and provide evidence to the NPFL.
In addition to the financial penalty, the club will now play all remaining home matches this season behind closed doors.
