NPFL Confirms Sporting Lagos Coach Jeffrey Buter Summoned Over Refereeing Allegations
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has confirmed that Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter has been summoned before the league’s disciplinary panel over allegations concerning match officiating.
Buter is being asked to explain comments he made following Sporting Lagos’ goalless draw against Ikorodu City, where he reportedly raised concerns about the officiating and alleged possible collusion involving the NPFL management and the Nigeria Referees Association.
The NPFL confirmed the development in a statement published on its official X account on Monday.
"Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffery Buter has been invited to substantiate allegations of collusion by #EUROMATCHNPFL management & the Nigeria Referees Association to influence the outcome of their match against Ikorodu City.
Buter is billed to face a panel on Wednesday at the NPFL meeting room. He has been asked in a letter to come with evidence to support his allegations, which was published on several social media platforms."
