NPFL: Bright Ozebagbe Blames Carelessness for Ikorodu City’s 4-0 Defeat to Bendel Insurance

Ikorodu City technical adviser Bright Ozebagbe has admitted his team paid the price for a careless display in their 4-0 defeat to Bendel Insurance on Sunday.

The heavy loss at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium marked the end of Ikorodu City’s three-match unbeaten streak and dented their momentum in the Nigeria Premier Football League title race.

Speaking after the encounter, Ozebagbe acknowledged that his side created scoring opportunities but failed to convert them, while defensive lapses allowed the hosts to dominate proceedings.

“We were sloppy, and we had chances but we failed to capitalise on them,” Ozebagbe told Platinum news.

“We will try to correct that area that we found ourselves wanting in the game.

“We are not under pressure to win the league we just want to try as much as possible to stay in the race.”

Ikorodu City remains third on the table with 45 points from 28 matches.
