NPFL: Bayelsa United Relegated After 2-1 Defeat to Remo Stars

Bayelsa United F.C. have officially been relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League following a 2-1 defeat to Remo Stars F.C. on Sunday at the Remo Stars Stadium.

Bayelsa United made a bright start to the encounter as Eyong Ofem opened the scoring in the early stages of the first half to put the visitors ahead.

However, Remo Stars responded before halftime through Alex Oyowah, who found the equaliser in the 40th minute to bring the hosts back into the contest.

In the second half, experienced striker Victor Mbaoma scored the winning goal to complete the comeback and hand Remo Stars a crucial 2-1 victory.

The important result lifts Remo Stars out of the relegation zone heading into the final game of the season, although they remain level on points with Kun Khalifat F.C., Enyimba International F.C., and Warri Wolves F.C., with the relegation battle set to go down to the final round of fixtures.
