NPFL: Barau FC Coach Eugene Agagbe Blames First-Half Injuries for Draw Against Wikki Tourists
Barau FC head coach, Eugene Agagbe, has revealed that injuries to key players in the first half prevented his team from claiming maximum points against Wikki Tourists. The 2025/2026 NPFL Matchday 31 clash in Jos ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
The newly promoted Kano-based side remains competitive in the Nigerian Professional Football League, with the draw lifting them to eighth place on the league table with 41 points. Despite missing out on a win, Agagbe remains optimistic about the team’s efforts.
“Well, I always thank God because my players are working hard. It was just because most of my players had injuries in the first half,” Agagbe said during the post-match press conference.
He added, “That was why the game ended goalless. But we still thank God for the one point that we got here today. The secret is that we are down and we want to work harder to achieve our goal, which is to move to a better position on the table.”
