The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has directed Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to temporarily move their home matches away from Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, due to the poor state of the pitch.
In a letter signed by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, the league said the playing surface is below required standards and unsuitable for television coverage.
“We wish to inform you… the Lekan Salami Stadium is no longer suitable to host NPFL matches,” the letter stated.
3SC must choose between MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta or Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
“Your reply should reach the NPFL secretariat… on Feb. 2, 2026,” or the league will assign a venue.
