NPFL: Ayodeji Ayeni Reacts to Doma United’s Draw Against Plateau United

Doma United technical adviser Ayodeji Ayeni has praised his players for their performance despite surrendering a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw against Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday Five fixture.

The Savannah Tigers made a strong start at home, with Adegbite Michael scoring twice to put Doma United 2-0 ahead.

However, Plateau United responded after the break, with Gideon Monday and Paul Samson finding the net to bring the visitors level and ensure the points were shared.

Despite seeing his side concede twice after taking a commanding lead, Ayeni was pleased with the overall performance and particularly the team’s ability to create and convert chances.

“My players played well. If we didn’t play well, we couldn’t have scored. We were trying to consolidate on our goals, but their first goal came against the run of play through a deflection, which we can’t help,” Ayeni told Doma United’s media.

“We just need to psyche the players up and lift their game so we can pick up points on the road.

“To some extent, I am satisfied with the performance of my players, especially the fact that they were able to score goals.”
