NPFL 2026/27 Opening-Day Fixtures Confirmed as Defending Champions Rangers Begin Title Defence Against Katsina United

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially unveiled the opening-day fixtures for the 2026/27 season following the league's fixture draw held in Ibadan on Friday.

Defending champions Rangers International will begin the defence of their league crown at home against Katsina United, as they aim to make a strong statement from the opening weekend.

One of the headline fixtures will take place in Ibadan, where Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) hosts newly promoted Inter Lagos in a highly anticipated South West derby at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Elsewhere, newly promoted Sporting Lagos will begin their return to the top flight with an away trip to Doma United, while Rivers United welcome Plateau United in Port Harcourt.
