Nottingham Forrest defender to return to his former club

Canadian defender Richie Lareya has found it difficult to adapt to English football since moving from Toronto FC to Nottingham Forrest in January 2022, and the player will return to Canada in the near future.

According to NationalWorld, the MLS club is close to finalising a deal for the 29-year-old right-back, which will be worth $750,000 and bonuses for the Premier League side.

Since moving to England, Lareya has only played in five games in the 2021/2022 Championship season before starting to go out on loan to clubs in his homeland, Toronto (2022-2023) and Vancouver (August-December 2023).

On his return to Nottingham, the player didn't even make it into the squad for the Foresters' last five matches. Laray's record also includes 48 games in the Canadian national team, in which he scored two goals. Transfermarkt values the player at 2.5 million euros.
