Nottingham Forest Set to Sign Ousmane Diomande From Sporting CP for €40 Million
Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on the signing of Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande in a deal worth €40 million (£34.3 million; $46.2 million).
According to The Athletic, negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, with the transfer now being finalized.
Diomande is expected to travel later on Saturday to undergo his medical before completing his move to the Premier League club. If everything goes according to plan, the Ivory Coast international will sign a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the standout young defenders in Portuguese football since joining Sporting from Danish club FC Midtjylland in January 2023.
During his time with the Portuguese side, Diomande has made 132 appearances, gaining valuable experience in domestic and European competitions.
He has also become an important member of the Ivory Coast national team, earning 16 international caps.
