Brighton put on a spectacular show against Crystal Palace. In the seventh round of the English Premier League, the hosts stunned their opponents with a blistering start, scoring three goals in the opening 10 minutes. At half-time, the Seagulls' advantage remains more than convincing — 3-0.

The highlight of the opening spell was Diego Gómez's incredible goal. The Brighton midfielder found the net with a strike from 51 metres, taking aim from virtually the center circle. The ball flew into the net, and the scorer etched his name into the history of the English top flight.

According to Opta, it is the longest-range Premier League goal since November 2017, when Wayne Rooney scored for Everton against West Ham with a strike from approximately 58 metres. Gómez fell just seven metres short of that mark, but his effort has already become one of the most spectacular moments of the season so far.

Brighton also made history. The Seagulls became only the ninth team in Premier League history to score three goals in the opening 10 minutes of a match. The last side to achieve the feat was Newcastle, against Tottenham in April 2023.
