The Real Madrid management has made a definitive decision to sell defender David Alaba this summer, as he is not included in new head coach Xabi Alonso's plans. According to AS, Los Blancos are already looking for a new club for the Austrian, but are facing significant challenges.
The main issue reportedly lies in the player's high salary, which is around €12.5 million per year, as well as his poor physical condition following a serious injury. Alaba is still recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture and has recently been a regular in the treatment room.
Recall that the Austrian joined the Madrid club in 2021 from Bayern Munich. With the Spanish giants, he has twice lifted the Champions League trophy.
