Konaté loses the chance to join the Galacticos.

Details: According to renowned and reliable journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his page on social network X, Real Madrid have decided not to sign the 26-year-old French defender from Liverpool and the France national team, Ibrahima Konaté.

Earlier reports suggested that Real Madrid had been in negotiations with Konaté regarding a free transfer in the summer of 2026, when his contract with Liverpool is set to expire. However, it now appears that Los Blancos have changed their plans.

It is quite likely that Real's final choice has fallen on Upamecano from Bayern rather than Konaté.

At the moment, Konaté is in talks with Liverpool about a new contract.

This season, Konaté has played 18 matches for the Reds, scoring one goal. His market value is estimated at €55 million by Transfermarkt.
