Not Lunin. Chelsea begin talks with top La Liga goalkeeper
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has requested the club to find a new goalkeeper to compete with Robert Sánchez, and the Londoners have identified such a keeper in Spain.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has entered negotiations for the transfer of Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen. While an agreement with Villarreal has yet to be reached, discussions have already started with the goalkeeper himself, who is interested in the move.
Previously, there were rumors that Chelsea was close to signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, but this information was later denied.
The 22-year-old Danish goalkeeper is a product of Villarreal's academy. Last season, he established himself as the club's first-choice keeper, playing 36 matches in La Liga and conceding 63 goals.
Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season but will play in the Conference League next season due to Manchester United's victory in the FA Cup.
