Not just buying. Chelsea are thinking about cleaning up the squad
Chelsea has been stingy in the summer transfer window, which has bloated the already unusually large squad of the Pensioners. Still, at Stamford Bridge they know what they are doing and will now work on cleaning up the squad.
At least that's what Fabrizio Romano assures us, as he reports that after a lot of purchases, Chelsea are shifting their focus towards selling.
So, if the "pensioners" will sign João Félix from Atlético, then Raheem Sterling will be allowed to leave the team. Romelu Lukaku, who is attracting interest from Napoli, is also close to leaving the Blues.
Another player that Chelsea can say goodbye to in the summer is Noni Madueke. He is being watched by Newcastle, but he is just one of many being considered by club scouts.
Chelsea made three exit transfers in the summer transfer window that brought in money for the club. That totalled €101 million.
