Before the start of the current MLS season, Inter Miami have strengthened with a bevy of stars such as Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, but not all the big names are keen to play for David Beckham's club.

"Herons" showed interest in former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, who now plays in his home country, namely Boca Juniors, but the Argentine himself refused a move to the United States and here's why:

"Leo called me, it's not that it's just someone or an intermediary, nobody. I spoke to Leo Messi, who told me about the possibility of a move to Inter. Imagine what that means for any footballer.

To tell you the truth, nobody convinced me to leave Boca, I recently renewed my contract. The only thing I did was to speak to Juan Roman Riquelme, tell him about the situation and tell him that if he needed me here, I would stay.

I wasn't persuaded to leave, I didn't want to leave. If he told me he needed me here for this year, I was 100 per cent convinced that I would continue to play in Boca and I wanted to continue to do so," Rojo told Radio La Red.
