An alternative priority candidate for the position of head coach at Bayern Munich has been named if they fail to reach an agreement with Xabi Alonso.

According to Kicker, former Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick could lead the Munich team.

Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi also remains a viable option. However, there are doubts among Bayern's top management regarding the language barrier.

It is noted that the 44-year-old Italian does not speak German and only speaks English to a limited extent. While German language skills are not absolutely necessary for Bayern's new coach, the management considers them desirable.

At 65, Rangnick currently heads the Austrian national team. He will lead the team at Euro 2024.

The German specialist is also known for his work with Manchester United, RB Leipzig, Schalke, Hoffenheim, and other clubs.

Earlier reports indicated that Bayern's management had held talks with one of the candidates for the head coach position.
