Norris signs £120m contract. Who earns more in Formula 1?

Lando Norris has signed a new four-year contract with McLaren, which will keep him with the team until the end of the 2030 season. The deal is reportedly worth around £120 million in total, with the 26-year-old Briton set to earn approximately £30 million per year.

That figure puts Norris third among Formula 1's highest-paid drivers. Ahead of him are seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who earns around £44.3 million per year at Ferrari, and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman's salary under his new Red Bull deal could reportedly reach £73.9 million per season.

Last season, Norris won his first world championship, securing McLaren's first drivers' title since 2008. Despite interest from other teams, the Briton never considered leaving and admitted that he wants to finish his career with McLaren.

Norris himself admitted that his new salary gives him mixed feelings. At the same time, the driver believes it is understandable that he currently trails his two main rivals in terms of financial conditions. In Norris' view, he has not yet achieved the same number of successes, but he is confident that he can compete with Hamilton and Verstappen on equal terms.
