No transfer: Rayan Cherki to stay at Lyon until the end of the season
Borussia Dortmund was interested in signing Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, but it appears the move will not happen this winter.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Lyon’s head coach John Textor stated that Borussia’s offer was too low, meaning Cherki will remain at the club.
Quote: "Dortmund’s offer was disrespectful, significantly below market value, and poorly timed. Rayan Cherki will remain an important part of our team until the end of the 2024/25 season," said Lyon’s manager.
Recently, reports suggested that the French midfielder could leave Lyon based on a verbal agreement for €22.5 million.
This season, the 21-year-old has scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 matches across all competitions for Lyon.
Reminder: It was previously reported that Borussia Dortmund made an offer to Chelsea for Carney Chukwuemeka.
