No return? Al-Ittihad has rejected West Ham's offer to purchase Kante

N'Golo Kante has recently been heavily linked with a return to the English Premier League. The Athletic reported that West Ham even made a verbal offer to Al-Ittihad to purchase the defensive midfielder, but it was rejected.
It is reported that the offer was around £15 million. The London club remains significantly interested in the 33-year-old Frenchman, but the Saudis are unwilling to part with him for less than £25 million.
Al-Ittihad highly values Kante and, despite his age, considers him a key player both in the short and long term. The player himself is content with his life in Jeddah but is also interested in a potential return to England.
Additionally, his contract with Al-Ittihad runs until the end of June 2026, and Transfermarkt values him at €9 million.
In the 2023/24 season, Kante played in 44 matches across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists. This was his debut season in Saudi Arabia after moving from Chelsea on a free transfer.
