No chance for her opponent. Swiatek is back in the final at Roland Garros
World No. 1 Iga Świątek has become the first finalist of Roland Garros 2024.
In today's semifinal match, the Polish tennis player defeated the third-ranked American, Coco Gauff, in straight sets.
In the first set, Świątek left Gauff with no chance. She secured a break point in the first game and played flawlessly on her own serves, winning the set 6-2.
The second set was more competitive, with Gauff managing to put up a fight against the world's top player. The score was tied at 3-3 by the seventh game, but Świątek broke Gauff's serve and closed out the set with a 6-4 victory.
Throughout the match, Świątek did not commit a single double fault, while Gauff had four double faults.
In the final, Świątek will face the winner of the match between Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva.
As a reminder, it is Swiatek who is the reigning Roland Garros champion.
