Nkota Strike Sinks SuperSport as Pirates Heap Relegation Pressure on Pretoria Side

Orlando Pirates piled more misery on SuperSport United with a narrow 1-0 win in the Betway Premiership clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night.
Nkota the Hero as Pirates Punish Passive SuperSport
The only goal of the match came in the 71st minute from Mohau Nkota, who cut inside brilliantly and curled a low shot past Thakasani Mbanjwa after a neat assist from Karim Kimvuidi.
It was a signature finish from the 20-year-old, sealing three points for a Pirates side that has already secured second place and a return to the CAF Champions League.
SuperSport Slipping Into Danger
While Pirates had little to play for, SuperSport United were desperate for a win to escape the relegation dogfight. Instead, they failed to rise to the occasion.
The result leaves them tied on 26 points with bottom-placed Cape Town City, only separated by goal difference. Interim coach Andre Arendse now faces serious pressure.
Dladla Steps Up on Debut
Making his debut in goal, 24-year-old Siyabonga Dladla impressed for the Bucs, making key saves early in the game. Like the late Senzo Meyiwa, Dladla is a product of the Pirates academy, and his composed performance may earn him more minutes in the remaining fixtures.
Defensive Grit, Missed Chances
SuperSport had chances. Christian Saile and Lebohang Maboe both came close, with Maboe striking the post late on. But the Pirates defense, led by Man of the Match Nkosinathi Sibisi, stood firm to keep the clean sheet.
