Following the dismissal of Nuri Şahin, Borussia Dortmund is actively searching for a new head coach and has reportedly turned to an unexpected candidate.
Details: According to Bild, Croatian manager Niko Kovač is the frontrunner for the vacant position.
However, Dortmund’s management sees Kovač as a temporary solution until the end of the season. In the summer, the club plans to pursue Erik ten Hag, Sebastian Hoeneß, or Roger Schmidt as long-term options.
Kovač’s most recent role was at Wolfsburg, and he has previously managed Monaco, Bayern Munich, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
