Nigerian Striker Salim Fago Lawal Completes Move to Viktoria Plzeň

Nigerian forward Salim Fago Lawal has officially completed his transfer to Czech top-flight side Viktoria Plzeň, ending his time at Croatian club NK Istra 1961.

The Czech giants confirmed the signing, announcing that Lawal has put pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029.

Lawal’s future had been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks. The striker was widely expected to join Azerbaijani powerhouse Qarabağ FK, with reports suggesting an advanced move away from NK Istra. However, Viktoria Plzeň moved decisively and ultimately won the race for his signature.

The Nigerian attacker arrived in the Czech Republic on Monday, where he successfully underwent his medical examinations before completing the transfer.
