Nigerian defender becomes Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for the fifth time in a row

Bayer Leverkusen's striker, Victor Boniface, has clinched the "Rookie of the Month" award, as reported by Football Tweet.

For the Nigerian footballer, this marks his fifth consecutive accolade. Boniface secured this recognition in August, September, October, November, and now in December.

A product of the Real Sapphire academy, Boniface signed a professional contract with Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt at the beginning of 2019. On September 22, he made his Tippeligaen debut against Ranheim, and on December 1, he scored his first goal for Bodø/Glimt in a match against Molde. In 2020, he played a crucial role in helping the club secure the championship.

On September 17, in a Europa League match against Lithuanian side Žalgiris, Boniface found the net. In 2021, he became a Norwegian champion for the second time. In the summer of 2022, Boniface made a €2 million move to Belgian side Union.

In the summer of 2023, he joined Bayer Leverkusen, with a reported transfer fee of €40 million according to Transfermarkt.
