Details: According to Micky Jnr, Nigeria striker Cyriel Dessers has been ruled out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to a thigh injury. The Super Eagles' forward has gone back to Greek side Olympiacos for treatment and will miss the Round of 16 clash against Mozambique.
It's worth noting that Dessers did not play a single minute at the Africa Cup of Nations: he remained on the bench against Tanzania and Tunisia, and wasn't even included in the squad for the match against Uganda.
Nigeria will face Mozambique in the Round of 16 on Monday, January 5, at 20:00 Central European Time.
Reminder: Koulibaly avoided a lengthy suspension. The Senegal captain was banned for only one match.
