Nigeria international midfielder Christantus Uche has undergone successful surgery after suffering a knee injury during pre-season with Getafe.
The 23-year-old sustained the injury during Getafe’s friendly against AS Monaco on August 6, forcing him to begin a lengthy recovery process.
According to Getafe’s official website, Uche underwent surgery in Lyon, France, on Wednesday. He will now start his rehabilitation programme as he works towards returning to full fitness.
Uche spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Crystal Palace but struggled to establish himself as a regular first-team player during his time in England.
The injury is a major setback for the Nigerian, with reports indicating that he could miss the entire 2026/27 season.
