Nigeria Football Federation Confirms Arthur Okonkwo Has Not Completed Switch from England

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has not yet completed his international switch from England to Nigeria.

Okonkwo, 24, born in England to Nigerian parents, has played for England at U-16, U-17, and U-18 levels but has not featured for the senior team. Reports in December 2025 suggested FIFA had approved his switch, but the NFF says the process is still ongoing.

Speaking to Footy-Africa, NFF Head of International Competitions Dayo Enebi explained:

“The process is still ongoing and has not been completed yet. Okonkwo is one we are looking at, but as of today, his international switch has not been concluded.”
