The 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw has set up a thrilling matchup between Morocco and Egypt. In Ivory Coast, 13 teams will compete for four slots in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile during the competition, which runs from April 26 to May 18.
The groups are as follows:
- Group A: Ivory Coast, UNIFFAC runner-up, DR Congo, Ghana, Tanzania
- Group B: Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa
- Group C: Senegal, Zambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone
The top team from each group, along with the best second-placed side, will qualify for the semi-finals and earn a ticket to the U20 World Cup.
Nigeria, the seven-time champions and most successful team in the competition, will have a difficult time in Group B. Senegal, the reigning champions, will try to keep their title.
With the top two teams from each group and the top two third-place teams moving on to the knockout stage, the event is organized in three groups.
