Nigeria Dominate IFFHS Africa Best XI for 2025
Five Super Falcons players have been named in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics Women’s Africa Best XI for 2025, underlining Nigeria’s dominance on the continent.
The list includes goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Ashleigh Plumptre, and midfielders Christy Ucheibe and Rasheedat Ajibade. Despite Nigeria’s attacking success, no Nigerian forward made the final selection.
Nigeria provided the highest number of players, ahead of Morocco and South Africa with two each. Nnadozie retained her place in goal, reflecting her status as Africa’s leading goalkeeper.
Alozie featured at right-back, Plumptre partnered Bambanani Mbane in central defence, while Ajibade, Ucheibe and Ghizlane Chebbak anchored midfield.
The forward line had Temwa Chawinga, Barbra Banda and Sanaâ Mssoudy, with no Super Falcons attacker included.
