Niels Nkounkou joins OGC Nice on loan
The left-back will play in Ligue 1 during the 2026–2027 season.
Niels Nkounkou is temporarily leaving the German Bundesliga for the French league. Eintracht Frankfurt and OGC Nice have finalised a one-season loan deal for the Congolese-born defender.
The loan agreement includes an option to buy the 25-year-old defender. If Niels Nkounkou manages to establish himself at Nice, he is not expected to return to Germany at the end of the 2026–2027 season.
Capable of playing as a left-back or left wing-back, the Franco-Congolese defender arrives at Nice with European experience. He has played in England, Belgium and France.
“I’ve spoken at length with Elye, who is a very good friend. He’s told me lots of good things about the club, the city and the supporters. Now, above all, I can’t wait to get started, to get to know the squad and to give my all on the pitch. I hope to be able to help the team and have a great season,” said Niels Nkounkou on his arrival in Nice.
