Nicolas Jackson joins the Chelsea squad in Sydney
The Senegalese international has joined his team-mates in Australia for the summer tour.
Nicolas Jackson was absent from the Chelsea squad that travelled to Sydney last week for the summer tour. The Senegalese striker’s absence from the squad had fuelled rumours of a possible transfer this summer.
Speculation had suggested, in particular, that Jackson was set to join Aston Villa during this summer’s transfer window. Some sources had suggested that the Senegalese international’s absence from Chelsea’s squad for the summer tour of Australia was linked to transfer negotiations.
However, the Senegalese player has finally joined his team in Sydney. Chelsea have announced that Nicolas Jackson has arrived at the club’s training camp in Australia to begin pre-season preparations with his team-mates.
The reason Jackson was not initially part of the travelling party was his participation in the 2026 World Cup with the Senegal national team. The Senegalese striker was therefore still on holiday following the tournament, just like his Chelsea team-mate, Moises Caicedo, who also took part in this summer’s World Cup with Ecuador.
