Nice want to keep Elye Wahi
On loan until the end of the season
The Ivory Coast international has won over the French club’s management, who do not want to let him leave at the end of his loan spell.
The Nice management makes no secret of its intentions regarding Elye Wahi. Having arrived in Nice last winter on a season-long loan from Frankfurt, the Ivorian striker has made a big impression. With four goals and one assist in 11 Ligue 1 matches, the French club wants to keep the 23-year-old when his loan expires in June. Nice’s deputy vice-president, Maurice Cohen, has made this clear.
We’d very much like to keep Elye Wahi. He’s a very likeable lad. We haven’t had any discussions with Frankfurt yet, and we can’t have any until we know whether we’ll be in Ligue 1 next season. We’d like to extend his loan.
