The central defender of the Nice team, Youcef Atal, has been held accountable for racial hatred, as reported by l'Équipe.

It has come to light that the footballer has been conditionally sentenced to eight months in prison. Additionally, he is required to pay a fine of 45,000 euros. Recall that on October 14, 2023, Atal posted a video urging the initiation of a "dark day for Jews." Subsequently, he deleted the message and issued an apology.

Nevertheless, Nice has still suspended him from training and matches with the club. Youcef Atal has also received a seven-match suspension from the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League of France. In November, the player was arrested by the police.

In July 2018, he transferred to the French club Nice. On November 10, 2018, he scored his first goal for the club in a Ligue 1 match against Nîmes. This goal was the sole goal of the match, securing victory for Nice. On January 26, 2019, he scored his second goal of the season, again against Nîmes.

By the way, the 27-year-old Atal was called up to the Algerian national team for the African Cup of Nations, which is set to commence next week in Ivory Coast.
